Modern Warfare 3 Elite drops 9-12  are now available to download on Xbox 360. The DLC includes two free Face Off maps, one multiplayer map, two Spec Ops missions, and two Elite Face Off maps.

Gamers will be able to get their hands on Modern Warfare 3 for the PC..FOR FREE today! Starting at 1 PM Eastern (10 AM Pacific, 6 PM UK), PC gamers can go to Steam to download Modern Warfare 3. It will remain free for the weekend, and thene you will have to pay $59.99 for the full game when its over.

The only mode available will be the multiplayer of Modern Warfare 3.

New Modern Warfare 3 DLC is now available for Xbox Elite subscribers. The COD MW3 DLC will include two new multiplayer maps, Sanctuary and Foundation.

Sanctuary takes place in Greece, and Foundation is based in South Korea.

Elite Drop 7: Sanctuary

• Suspended in the air one thousand feet up, you’ll battle more than altitude in the towering sandstone monasteries of Central Greece. Formed over millions of years, this sanctuary’s natural rock pillars have repelled invading armies and withstood the ravages of time but now they’ll face your deployment. Test your skills-and the ancient monks’ craftsmanship-with your arsenal of SMG’s, assault rifles and shotguns. Just remember: don’t look down.

Elite Drop 8: Foundation

• Journey into the heart of South Korea for a decommissioned concrete factory where the cement flows and bullets fly. After decades of constructing roads and buildings, the towering facility is now a perfectly-constructed combat zone for sniping and run-and-gun rules of engagement. Don’t stand in awe of the towering concrete crusher at the center of the factory unless you want to see your kill ratio meet the same fate.

A new patch for Modern Warfare 3 is available for PlayStation 3 users. Patch 1.12 will be a 27MB download and is a mandatory update.

The new drop will include multiplayer map Black Box and two new special ops. In addition there will be six new trophies for special operation missions, Black Ice and Negotiator.

Everyone enjoys getting to know maps like the back of their hand, but it’s important to see a new environment from time to time, to keep things fresh – and to keep the really talented players on their toes at all times. There’s nothing like getting complacent, right?

No prices are confirmed as yet, but given the prices of the last map packs it’s not going to be anything that breaks the bank – and it’s not like you’re playing much outside MW3 anyway, right? Even if it is a little bit of partypoker while your match loads, five maps is a lot more than some people were expecting – around 66% more, if our math is correct.

As for future map packs, our guess is four or five, at the least – given that MW3 is the latest iteration in a long-running series that will stand for some time (unless they get cracking on Black Ops 2 – who could blame them). It’s going to be interesting to see what maps they’ll bring back out of the past, as going back even further (potentially all the way back to some of the earlier games, permitting for realism – i.e. not setting a MW3 map in a location only around in 1937) would be great.

Modern Warfare 3 DLC pack, Collection 1, is now available on Xbox Live. The first MW3 DLC will cost 1200 Microsoft points. Collection 1 includes two spec-ops missions, Negotiator and Black Ice, and four multiplayer maps, Piazza, Liberation, Overwatch, and Black Box.

With all new content being available to all Modern Warfare 3 players, the Elite Playlist has been renamed to Collection 1 Playlist.

New achivements have also been added Collection 1 that can be unlocked through the new Special Ops missions.

We have good news for Modern Warfare 3 Xbox 360 users who did not purchase the Call of Duty Elite membership. The content that has been released for Elite members will be available to Xbox Live Gold members on March 20.

Content Collection #1 will include the Liberation, Piazza, Overwatch and Black Box maps for multiplayer, in addition two Spec Ops missions – Black Ice and Negotiator.

Black Box will first be available to Xbox 360 Elite members on March 13. The negotiator Spec Ops will take place in India where players will rescue hostages. In Black Ice players will infiltrate a diamond mine and attempt to plant a bomb to destroy the operations there.

Tomorrow afternoon PlayStation 3 users will receive Modern Warfare 3 patch 1.09 and the first two map packs, Pizza and Liberation.

Overwatch will be missing from the release, however it will be included in the third Elite drop in March. It was confirmed in the latest episode of Roll Call.

“Overwatch Content Drop will be available to Call of Duty Elite Premium PSN members in March.”

Xbox 360 Elite members will be getting three new content drops, Black Box map and two new spec ops missions in March. PS3 and PC owners should see this Modern Warfare 3 DLC content in April.

Robert Bowling commented on some of the new additions to the Modern Warfare 3 patch 1.09.

PC users recently received an update for five prestige emblems, and PS3/Xbox 360 gamers are expected to see these new levels in the next update also. “It should be added in the next title updates for those platforms [Xbox 360 and PS3],” commented Bowling.

HD video uploads and a fix for music volume will be included in the patch.

“HD video uploads for PS3 are currently planned in an upcoming title update for MW3,” said Bowling.

Infinity Ward developer commented, “the patch containing the music adjustment is going into submission [presumably, the console manufacturers certification process] very soon.”

No release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 patch 1.09 has been released.
